Week late but.. With the release of Kendrick Lamar’s single “Drank” few weeks ago, DOSVEC caught wind and started on a mashup that is without a doubt an absolute masterpiece. Give credit to Candyland for supplying him with the bass (Darude – Sandstorm [Candyland's OG Remix]). I hope this will lighten up the scholars that have been sent back to school so early.

Yes, I realize we have heard this track remixed a lot lately but this has to be my favorite so far, Somebody Nasty the perfect mashup sprinkled with a little bit of everything and it couldn’t be more perfect on this day of parties, independence, hot guys and girls, fireworks, and getting wild and crazy about how independent we all are today!
Anything mashed with Biggie has my attention no matter what. Probably one of the most flawless hip-hop artists of our time, with a flow like no other. I study this cat everyday to get on the level of skill that he had, but DAMN it ain’t easy! Can you imagine what hip-hop might be if Biggie was still around, and I am not hating at all on what’s getting put out today, but I definitely think things would be different, probably a crazy take over if you ask me. Nasty Girl was lifted from Nasty Boy, the Life After Death album, but completely different musical arrangement and lyrics. Nasty Girl ranked #1 in the UK in 2005, pretty dope to be #1 in the UK all the way from Brooklyn. I love it when new artists and DJ’s today remember the greats and include them in their music, it shows mad respect!

DOSVEC/DJ Whatt definitely knows what he is doing, mashups can be hit or miss if you don’t know what your doing and when you are working with a top charted track and Biggies vocals and lyrics then you better be on your “A” game, just sayin’. I don’t think I could have come by a better track to jam out to today, it screams everything I want out of my independence; Wild, Crazy and Free!
